alternative energyBack in the pioneer days, the families who settled the American west by homesteading in covered wagons managed to carve out a decent existing without the necessity and consumption of electricity.   I’m sure it was tough, but their values were built around family, farm and faith.  They worked hard but lived simple lives and utilized alternative energy to meet their needs.

Early homesteaders were not addicted to TVs, computers and labor saving devices how we are here in the 21st century.  Certainly, our needs are different today, and which doesn’t suggest we need to give up all our modern conveniences in order to live a more self reliant lifestyle.  However, many homesteaders and self-reliant families are looking to unplug from the utility company in order to live “off the grid”.  That will encourage some alternative energy solutions.

So, while living a more-simple lifestyle may be your desire, keep in mind it is modern advances in technology that are making it less complicated and less difficult for homeowners to generate their own power using alternative means. First of all, the expenses of purchasing power are getting increasingly expensive.  In the case of electricity that is generated by burning carbon-based fuels like diesel or coal, all of these precious natural resources are reaching their limit of availability, and it’s a common principle of economics that when the supply goes down and the demand goes up, prices naturally rise.

There’s the second value of burning normal fuels which is the effect which has on our environment.  You only have to pick up a newspaper or turn on the television news to see reports of damage and disaster happening somewhere in the world due to climate issues and land over-use.  Some people believe that it is becoming more justified that the burning of normal fuels is making a contribution to the greenhouse effect that leads to global warming and climate change.  This article is not to provide a defense or argument with regards to the discussion of global warming.  Our main point is that we are not being good stewards of our natural resources.

There are those who will argue that it is extraordinarily costly to convert a home to solar electricity or employing the wind to generate electricity, but as more customers are taking advantage of these alternative power sources, the price of the bits and bobs used to harness them continues to go down.  Not only do solar cells and air turbines cost less than they used to, but additional info is becoming available about the best way to do it yourself and build home-made solar panels and windmills.  The internet is a superb starting point attempting to find sources of new, alternative energy information to help shoppers become more self dependent and more environmentally responsible as they unplug themselves from the grid and start enjoying a better lifestyle with their own home made energy.  My search of the Net disclosed the following top resources that you should look at as a starting point.

A review of Magniwork informed me about this amazing system.  Take some time now solely to imagine being able to create your own power source that’s absolutely free.  You receive a step by step guide that allows is easy to follow and allows anybody to be in a position to build a replenish-able energy system to supply free electricity to their home.

Another resource I found was a review of Earth4Energy.  This manual contains really detailed info.  It’s a manual illustrating how to achieve a home that’s green thru making your own green energy solution.  Earth4Energy is a sensible investment if you’re interested by making your own power sources.  The focus of the Earth4Energy guide is to teach you how to build a home-made solar cell and wind turbine at extraordinarily low cost.  It claims that through this strategy you can reduce 80 % -100 % of your electric bill.  That sounds great to me!  It also comes with solar energy video and wind energy video.  You are provided with an easy to follow guide for building your own wind energy and solar electricity generators at home.

And yet another great resource is PREPARE Magazine.   They offer a free digital subscription and each month they offer practical tips and excellent tips on self-reliance.  In next months free issue, there will be an resource training on building hydro-electric generator that will provide free energy to your home.

There are many approaches that we can make to work to harness solutions to the huge energy crisis that the world is facing – while not destroying nature in the process.  Outlined above are a couple of things you can consider.
